Step 66: Whirling Meditation

A powerful Sufi technique that creates a whirlpool of energy with a silent center. Have an empty stomach, bare feet, and loose clothing.

Preparation: Empty stomach, bare feet, loose clothing... The whirling is done on the spot in an anti-clockwise direction... Right arm held high with palm up (receiving)... Left arm low with palm down (giving)... Keep eyes open but unfocused... Rotate slowly for 15 minutes, then gradually build speed for 30 minutes until the whirling takes over... Don't decide to fall; allow the body to fall by itself... Immediately after falling, roll onto your stomach and feel your body 'blending into the earth.' Remain still for at least 15 minutes.
