Step 20: Swimming as Meditation

Swimming can become meditation when you are fully present with each stroke, each breath, each movement. The key is to avoid it becoming mechanical.

Enter the water... Begin swimming... Be fully present with each stroke... Notice each breath... Feel the water against your skin... Use your whole body... A moment can come when the swimmer disappears and only the swimming remains... Stay alert and present.
