Step 2: In Praise of the Rising Sun

2of 108
Sunrise practice • Consider enabling a sunrise alarm in settings.

Wake up at 5 AM, before sunrise. For half an hour (or until the sun rises), just sing, hum, sigh, or groan. Enjoy it. Sway in bliss. Let this become a praise of the rising sun, and only stop when the sun has risen. This is a special morning practice that connects you with the natural rhythm of the day. Consider enabling a sunrise alarm in settings to support this practice.

Find a comfortable space where you can move freely. As you begin, allow your voice to emerge—sing, hum, sigh, or groan. Let the sounds be natural and spontaneous. Sway gently in bliss as you make these sounds. Feel the energy of the morning, the anticipation of the rising sun. Continue until the sun has risen. Let this become a praise, a celebration of the new day.
