Step 6: Panting Like a Dog

6of 108

Experiment • 5-minute playful panting to shift stuck energy.

It is difficult to work directly on anger. A small experiment can be very helpful. Whenever you feel stuck, whenever you feel tense or blocked, you should walk and pant like a dog. Hang your tongue out and down, and run around on all fours, panting. This playful practice shifts stuck energy and creates a sense of lightness. It's an experiment in breaking through mental and emotional barriers through physical movement.

Find a space where you can move freely, preferably on a soft surface. Get down on your hands and knees. Hang your tongue out and down, like a dog. Now, start panting—quick, shallow breaths. As you pant, begin to move around on all fours. Run, crawl, move in any way that feels natural. Continue for 5 minutes. This playful, animal-like movement will shift stuck energy and create a sense of release. Don't worry about how it looks—this is your private practice.
