Physical discomfort in meditation is normal. Use the three-step process: Give it total attention, watch it concentrate, witness its disappearance.

When physical discomfort arises... Step 1: Give it total attention—watch without wanting it to disappear... Step 2: Watch it concentrate—it may become more pinpointed... Step 3: Witness its disappearance—when your gaze is perfect, it may vanish... Continue for 15 minutes.
